Colors

Children in a Red Cross orphanage
Saw this picture on http://artdecoblog.blogspot.com/ and loved the colors. I really like the student lines and the many lines made from the student lines!

Technical Illustration - GarlicZoom

Blow-Up
X-Ray
Color
Cute and nifty little gadget from Chef'n which was my object of choice for a final project.
The objective of these illustrations is to "inform" the viewer of what the different parts are, how they come together, and in general how it works.
There was supposed to be a total of four illustrations: Blow-Up view, cutaway view, x-ray view, and colored (to show what the materials are). The cutaway was omitted since the little gadget is transparent.
They still haven't been corrected by the tutor, so there will probably be some changes later :)

Boiler Valve

We were to produce 5-6 versions of this valve: Pencil shading, color pencil, simple lineart, as well as three more done in three different coloring techniques of the student's choice. This one is the watercolor one. The rest are still with my tutor, so can't upload them til I get them back :)

Blossom Cat

I'm in serious trouble as I have been unable to keep up with deadlines for some time, and it's only getting worse! Yet, I spend my time doodling cats :(

Swedrift.com got a new background!

Painted with photoshop, and inspired by a reference, which
I've lost the adress to! :(

A sketch I made for Swedrift.com's background. I'm redisigning the whole site as commission work, which makes things even more crazy, since I still have 4 university projects that need to be finished by next week :( Wish I was 10 years younger.. Didn't get so tired back then!

As you can see the two most vibrant colors are blue and yellow, Sweden's flag colors :)  It's just prefect and looks quite bad-ass (in conrast to what it's like now)  when filtered for the background!

Loving warmups

I love doodling freely without any pressure or demand on getting something specific out ... Just letting my brush and mood take over. Wonderful contrast to the uni stress.. I'm really not coping well :(

Storyboard - Color keys

I really REALLY did enjoy studying color keys and coloring my storyboard panels, although I didn't really have time to paint more than three as I have my parents, as well as brother and his family visiting this week, so I had a great time slacking off at the forests and towns of sweden and stuff ;)

Self Portrait - Rough

Ok, I'm not in love with myself or anything but this was done upon a request coming from my father.. I can't refuse anything coming from him of course :)
I don't think it'll be refined any further this week though as I'm working on a storyboard project for uni!

Blown Away

I've just watched an amazing tutorial by Lois and picked up some fun ideas which made the whole sketching process a lot simpler and easier  :)  Kudos to her, she's amazing!

This is only a close-up image of her face. The full one can be viewed at my DevART gallery

Afro Speed-Racer, Closeup

A lil close-up of my recently refined painting :) The full painting can be viewed at my DevART http://rainytown.deviantart.com gallery. I want to put it in CGS too but I think it should be a lil more "complete" first :)

University application period is over now, and I'm waiting to know which one I'll be getting into. I'm hoping it will be LiU mostly because it's close, but it's also a very good university.

I just had to say.. I hate Lady Gaga. In fact, I can't stand her. She's silly, shallow, and so bloody annoying. Why do people like her beats the hell out of me. She shouldn't be called lady gaga even, but lady habla.

Lina

Photoshop and wacom. I kept modifying and refining every time I learned something new :) I think I'm putting her to rest now and considering the painting finished. On and off I'm guessing it took 15 hours.

Environment Concept for Case #1873

Not sure if the composition is working for me, but since it's a very easy thing to fix I might change it later :) Next task is going to be storyboarding. Yum :>

Environment

They were supposed to be just thumbs, but I ended up spending a looooot of time on them because of the fun (and lack of experience :)

Afro Speed

Implementations

Applying the recently learned composition and facial lessons while listening to ACDC with my sweetie :) Composition makes all the difference!  I'm not sure I'm done with the image yet. We'll see what kind of future refining it might undergo!

Digital Painting - Training Exercise 1

I was supposed to be studying today, but spent 6 hours doing some painting exercises instead :P Now I'm stuck doing homework in the middle of the night. Anyway, the result was this painting. The aim of the exercise was to try recreating a reference photo with photoshop. The original photo was taken by Ukiko , and can viewed here.

Afro Speed

More speed painting exercises, this time with people :) I really need to start doing whole figures instead of the usual portraits. They key to speed painting is to get the details down with as little strokes as possible, so they have to be quite accurate and smooth as they are laid down.
I really like this sci-fi afro girl. I've been watching too much sci-fi for my own good recently haha :)

Rebecca Sketch

This is Rebecca, a character I'm developing for a concept art study project. She's supposed to be a fragile nerd type, so there will probably be some more changes :)
I've tried out a few skin-tone rendering tips taken from the course. I really like the outcome.

Thumbnail drawing ,Refinings, AND A NEW LAYOUT!

This week's assignment in progress is about thumbnail sketching our characters. Mine look too skinny because the character is supposed to be a lil twig haha

and I've been doing some further refining on my cold snowflake girl. She used to look so flat!

As for my new layout.. I t hink it looks a little too girly so might change it a little more later, but I'm so glad to rid myself of the cramped-up old one :)

Perspective Prop

My prop concept for an ongoing uni-project. Basically steam-punk combined with some contemporary geometric shapes. I'm still new to perspective, but can still see it's kindof off :p That's what happens when someone leaves themselves with just one day to work on something!
